Edit: Title can be Weekend warriors: the culture of cones.
Posts and videos by us autocross and rallycrossers. Event write-ups, advice, build threads, lessons learned. I think we have enough active drivers on here to make it fun and interesting.
Edit 2: stuff Jalopnik can't do: regional motorsports and racing the sheer variety of Miatas and other cars we have

My build thread for AutoX: new wheels, mudflaps to save paint, premium gas. Done. Although my old car had adjustable shocks, rear ARB, etc.

I'd definitely be into that. Not into racing yet. But I want to be soon.

I was just kidding, I know some people do some really serious stuff and I like the idea.

Thanks. It would be pretty cool to get ambassadors for each class and respective modification levels. Hopefully more people can be inspired to race their cars

I'd read, maybe be able to add a novice article or two. I'm thinking about doing a Rallycross event this year, but most courses are too rough/scratch prone for my car.

That's what I thought until I got cone rash from autocross. I said f it, I love driving my car more than I care about a few scratches. It also helps that I have an awesome rallycross course with very low damage potential

Can't convince myself it is worth it yet with <9k miles.

Everyone has a different point for that. A rental car is also a great option to try it out

Autocross and rallycross are not the only amateur motorsports some of us are into: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/scca-st-louis-…
But autocross is absolutely the cheapest thrill!

We need some amateur drifting posts up in here, too. Oh, and 2CV racing. Please, please—more posts on that kind of Spec 2CV series!
